Grandpa’s Hare
37x29cm
Ink on paper
Mounted on black cardstock
This is the piece that really kicked off my stippling journey. I have been creating art for a long time, and have worked previously in acrylic paint. I wanted to carve out a niche for myself in the art world, and one that worked with limited space and a new baby. My grandpa was my own personal hero and we lost him during the pandemic. He was a unique, practical and loving man who enjoyed gardening and wildlife. I drew this hare, his favourite animal, in his memory. I know he’d be proud of the work I’m doing and what I’ve been trying to achieve and that makes me want to succeed even more.
